NEWOrleans City Hall

As a team Norma Yancy, Jesse Stock, and I worked together to create a new city hall for New Orleans after the disaster of Hurricane Katrina.  As part of a design studio in the spring semester of 2008 under the supervision of prof. Sung Ho Kim and prof. Paul Donnelly, the design took a look at the city hall as a representation of the city itself.  Our design looked to create a new transportation node, extending the trolley line into the city core while also utilizing the existing city hall structure as a place for artist-in-residence.  By creating a new center for both tourists and the residents of the city, we hope to capitalize on the location of the site between Garden District and the French Quarter with proximity to the Superdome and the CBD, the design was focused on ensuring new views and establishing a new skyline for the city.
